Fast And Furious
SMOK brings a colourful start to 2018 with the introduction of their Veneno 225W kit bringing a whole new meaning to the term “lighting up”. And who would have thought it possible with a vaping device!
So, as we pack away the Christmas tree lights for another year, it’s not all over just yet folks.
The Veneno device comes in a choice of no fewer than seven different coloured casings with the option to change the hue of the seven LED lighting panels in twelve different colour settings. Quite an impressive pallet.
Plus, the Big Baby Light tank with its six separate colour sealing O-rings that can be inserted into the Big Baby Light tank for an even greater choice of colour effects.
And, when you add in a 1.3” colour OLED screen with a full temperature control suite that boasts a voltage range between 1W-225W, it gives you a pretty clear picture as to why this latest offering from SMOK has quickly come to people’s attention.
It’s an artistic piece that should have been rebranded from Veneno to Rembrandt!
Let’s look at what you can expect to find in the box along with a rundown of the devices and tanks full specifications.

The Veneno Device
SMOK has opted to keep the same chipset which can be found on the Majesty, S-Priv, and Mag Mod at the time of writing.
The gold-plated spring loaded 510 connector allows for flush mounting tanks up to a maximum diameter of 24.5mm/25mm without any overhang. It also has an intelligent atomizer recognition system built in to the device.
Building on the past success of their reliable high-end and high-power mods, the Veneno has a range from 1W up to a maximum 225 watts, that supports both variable voltage and temperature control modes of operation.
Improvements to the layout of the menu structure as I have mentioned before in previous reviews helps to speed up the overall navigation process.
There is a choice of up to twelve LED backlight options available to you that includes a gradient version as well with three different modes of operation (Fade, Normal or Flash) plus six screen settings.
SMOK has also included the option to turn the lighting functions off completely which will of course save on battery power.
You can also set the lighting to come on (when activated by the power bar only) or, always on as well.
Human interaction is achieved through a solid power bar and two well placed buttons situated towards the lower part of the front cover, just below the main screen and above the USB port.
Five clicks turn on the device with a further three clicks to enter the main menu.
For a full and comprehensive description on how to operate the Veneno, please consult the included user manual. As you will find with all current SMOK devices, the menu structure is simple and very straight forward to follow.
At the base of the device you will find the battery compartment which holds two 18650 cells. Situated on the inside of the re-designed door flap and at the bottom of each cells individual compartment are the plus and minus symbols for correct insertion of the batteries.
The current charge status of each one is displayed on the main OLED screen.
The Big Baby Light tank
The TFV8 Big Baby with that added touch of bling!
Ideally suited for attracting people’s attention after the hours of darkness, the Big Baby Light tank illuminates a selection of six different coloured O-rings inside the tank, creating an eye catching colourful display every time the fire bar is activated.
Please note, the output voltage cannot be lower than 1.5V, or the LED will fail to light up.
This tank has an e-liquid capacity from 2ml up to 5ml depending on whether you are using the TPD compliant version or the standard one. There is a 7ml Pyrex Glass tube available which is sold as a separate item to replace the 5ml glass section.
And with the introduction of the bulb Pyrex glass Prince tank (Sold Separately) you can increase your e-liquid capacity with this device up to a maximum of 7ml.
It comes in a choice of matching snake skin drip tips which will also help to enhance the overall appearance further still.
Easy filling of either the 2ml E.U version, standard 5ml or, optional 7ml versions is accomplished thanks to its renowned swivel top cap design.
Airflow circulation around the coil heads can be fully adjusted via the airflow control ring helping to create a slightly tighter draw, or increased for maximum cloud production when used at the higher temperature settings.
So, if you want to get yourself noticed, look no further!
It might be a little bit gimmicky for some as the led cannot be turned off, but most definitely worth bearing in mind for a night out on the town!
Worth The Investment?
Adopting the old magicians card trick “pick a colour any colour” SMOK has taken it one step further!
So, for the show boaters out there in the vaping community it really doesn’t get much better than this.
SMOK has once again introduced something just that little bit different here to help “enlighten” us to the advantages of vaping over smoking!
Once again SMOK delivers another advanced Kit that performs well enough and worthy of your consideration. I’d still prefer to see top airflow control on all future releases!
