Switching styles but not performance SMOK have finally introduced to the market this month their first wooden box mod called the TREEBOX Mini.
Handcrafted from luxury Brazilian zebra wood that is both smooth to the touch and very durable for long-lasting pleasure. Weighing in at only 80g the TREEBOX Mini is an extremely eye catching 75W TC device that includes all the latest technological refinements that SMOK have engineered to improve safety, performance and reliability especially in the popular TC mode of operation.
Featuring adjustable Initial resistance technology with heat coefficient control built in to further enhance your vaping experience, along with all the other safety features we have come to expect from SMOK, this latest device should fit nicely into an ever increasing family of high-quality products that never seems to stop improving.
The TREEBOX Mini will work well with the latest range of TF-N2 Coil & TF-Ti Coils too which include both Nickel 200 and Titanium temperature sensing wire. For a list of the extensive range of coils on offer make sure you visit their website. The TREEBOX Mini also supports the use of stainless steel wire.
The TREEBOX Mini comes in an equally impressive sealed ornate wooden box. On top of the box is the SMOK logo in silver. The lower front section has a scratch to reveal authentication label attached, and the base houses a product description along with bar codes, and age verification 18+. This can be removed to reveal a felt layer underneath it.
Inside on the top level is the TREEBOX itself. By removing it and the foam layer that it is seated in you will find additional information in relation to battery safety, cleaning the TREEBOX, a Warranty card, plus the user manual in English and Chinese.

The TREEBOX box mod as I have already mentioned is a stunning all wooden box mod that is tastefully etched with the SMOK Logo on one side and the TREEBOX logo on the other. Powered from 1watt up to 75 watts and regulating temperatures between 200-600°F.
They have also introduced another useful feature that is high-frequency dynamic monitoring resistance technology to detect your attached atomizers resistance. The monitoring detects the resistance levels once every 250 microseconds, approximately 4000 times per second, which regulates the temperature of the heated coil in a far more accurate way.
Presented in a well laid out and user-friendly design, it’s simply a must have to add to the collection in my opinion, especially at this price. So at this point let’s take a look at the operational features of this device in a little more detail.
With a relatively extensive range by today’s standards of 1 watt up to 75 watts and firing down to 0.1Ω’s and up to 3.0Ω’s this device should suit a big part of the vaping community. There is also an option to set the ramp up time during the first two seconds of activating the firing button with a 10% plus (Hard) or 10% minus (Soft) from the preset (Standard) setting as well which is yet another very nice addition and most welcome, particularly at the very high temperature settings.
Temperature Control mode has a range between 200°F (100°C) and 600°F (315°C) and supports Ni & Ti coils.
To turn the device on press the fire button five times in quick succession. You will be met with a welcome screen followed by the TREEBOX LOGO and then TB 75 will appear. The full display of the device’s current settings follows shortly after this.
To access the options menu press the fire button three times in quick succession.
You can select either Wattage Mode or Temp mode from this menu.
You can choose between the three types of coils that the TREEBOX supports, which is currently Titanium, Nickel, or Steel.
When you have selected the option that matches the attached coil, you can opt to change between single and dual coils configurations by waiting for a sub menu to appear before exiting option two.
SC denotes the use of a single coil and DC indicates the use of a dual coil set up. Pressing the fire button lets you set the coil options between SC & DC when you have selected option two and Titanium, Nickel or Steel is visible on the screen.
You can modify the ramp up start time between Soft, Normal, and Hard during the first two seconds of activating the firing button. There is a deviation of plus 10% (Hard) or minus 10% (Soft) from the preset (Normal) settings value.
Normal mode will fire the device at the set wattage or temperature value that you have pre-determined. Example Output value is set to 10w.
In Normal mode, the device will fire at 10w. In the Soft mode, the device will fire from 9w and up to the preset 10w within a two-second time frame after activating the fire button. In Hard mode, the device will fire at 11w and down to the preset 10w within the two seconds from activating the fire button.
Allows you to select and adjust the OLED screens illumination time by using the up and down buttons to select your preferred duration.
Displays the puff counter where you can set the limit of puffs that you think you will require to best suit your vaping habit!
It is pre-set to 0 (Never) and by using the +/- buttons you have the option to adjust it to a value of your choice.
The Screen orientation can be changed to suit either a left handed person or right handed one making viewing of the devices displayed information more comfortable.
Here you have the option to adjust the preset heat coefficient values for Titanium Nickel and Steel. These values are of great importance to avoid burning your Organic Cotton.
Adjustable Initial Resistance has been designed to ensure your resistance remains constant with an offset range between +/- 50mΩ (+/-0.05Ω). Temp sensing coils can suffer from this problem that may not be so apparent in wattage mode through poor contact of the atomizer depending on how loosely or tightly it is attached to the device where a deviation of as much as 0.02Ω can be recorded.
As an example of this is at 0.01Ω’s an error of up to 10 degrees Celsius can occur, so this adjustment will help to improve your overall vaping experience.
To turn the device off press the fire button five times in quick succession.
By holding down the fire button and the up button you can take a shortcut to access either the wattage mode or the Temp mode depending on which coil you have attached to the device at the time.
Once you have set your desired Wattage or Temperature, hold down the up & down buttons simultaneously and the preset value you have set will be locked. To unlock for further adjustments to be applied simply hold down the up and down buttons once again.
The TREEBOX Mini also has a built in overall locking feature that can be turned on or off by pressing the fire button x5 in quick succession to prevent you from accidentally firing the device.
The TREEBOX is yet another first from SMOK. Easy to use, comfortable to hold, intelligent, safe, and produces a very pleasant vaping experience with an added touch of class thanks to its all wooden appearance.
Flush mounting of the tanks I’ve used produced a gap-free fit with no connection problems at all when using the spring-loaded self-adjusting center pin. The inclusion of the Adjustable Initial Resistance will help to improve significantly improve your overall vaping experience as well.
The battery housing has been well designed also. SMOK have used four well-placed magnets to secure the cover that sits flush with the main body and produces no rattle at all.
Another nice feature is the clear, bright, and easy to read OLED screen situated on the front of the device displaying all the information you require at the touch of a button. Equally, the buttons themselves are well placed and easily accessible.
The button rattle on the pre-production model I have appears to have been addressed by the engineers, and the one I have used in this review has so far not produced this annoying sound. I have detected a very slight rattle. However, you have to shake the device vigorously to hear it.
They have also put the buttons through a rigorous testing process at the factory with a machine that presses each button more than 100,000 times to test their performance and longevity.
A newly designed cover has been included in this model as well to give greater protection to the PCB.
Venting of the battery is provided by way of sixteen holes. Please read the included leaflet supplied by SMOK and make sure you use a battery that is suitable for use with this device.
SMOK have also included a round robin function in the menu options allowing you to get back to the start more quickly which is a welcome addition also and one which I hope will be included on future devices.
They have recommended applying a wax coating every once in a while to protect the finish of the wood. A carry case is included as well which I suggest you use to preserve its beautiful finish and reduce the possibly of avoidable scratches and any other surface damage occurring unnecessarily.
This is without doubt, a quality piece and one I would have expected to cost a lot more money than it actually does. So much so that when I was initially informed about the price I asked for this to be confirmed in writing. And it was! So if you are a fan of the wooden styled box mod’s make sure you check this one out at your local brick and mortar store if they still have any left in stock.
Next up for review is the Koopor 200w device that I know some of you have been waiting for. I hope to have this completed in about a week’s time. Also take note, as I have, that this is the TREEBOX Mini, so don’t be surprised to see a larger version of the TREEBOX at some point soon!
Expected price for the TREEBOX is around £40.00 – $55.00 respectively.
