An increase in power, higher resolution 2” screen with a dynamic layout, and even greater style heralds the arrival of the latest SMOK G-Priv 2 Luxe Edition Kit from SMOK with the inclusion of the Prince Tank to help whet your appetite!

It offers you 1-230W of raw power along with a full temperature control suite of 200℉ 600℉/100℃ 315℃, plus all the safety features we have come to expect from SMOK which should help to satisfy even the most demanding Sub Ohm vapers who will only settle for a high-performance combination of device and tank alike in one kit.

Its overriding beauty lies not just on the surface, but in the touch sensitive software layers giving you quick and easy access to all the functionality that the G-Priv 2 has to offer.

So, let’s see how this one differs from my original review of the G-Priv 220W TC Box Mod and look at the benefits to be gained by investing in this kit.

The SMOK G-PRIV 220W TC Kit comes in its usual smart packaging displaying the device itself on the front cover of the box along with the QR codes for the App Store and Google Play plus, the SMOK App. There is also a scratch to remove strip that proves the devices authenticity.

On the back of the box you will find a full description of its contents, and a brief description of the device, plus the tank and any disclaimers.

G-Priv 2 Luxe Kit Operation

Apart from the inclusion of the Prince Tank, an increase in overall power (up by 10W) an improved UI, and small changes to the chassis, not much has changed since introduction of the original G-Priv kit.

Firstly, you will need to install two 18650 batteries of a type that SMOK recommend being used with this device.

Lift off the magnetic gloss finished carbon fibre battery door cover using the tab on the bottom, which is on the opposite side to the OLED screen.

You will see a diagram inside that shows which way around they will need to be installed and then replace the cover.

Attach the Prince Tank, which should be primed and filled with e-liquid via the spring loaded 510 connector situated on top of the chassis, and press the fire bar five times in quick succession to turn the device on.

You will be met with the SMOK Logo followed by the touch sensitive screen. If you have not attached an atomizer at this stage a message will appear notifying you of this.

The main menu offers you four menu options to choose from. VW Mode, TC Mode, Screen, and Puffs.

The diagram above displays each one of these, and the included user manual will help you to gain a thorough understanding of how each one functions, and how they can help you fine tune the G-Priv 2 in order to attain the best possible vaping experience.

SMOK have also included a locking function with the G-Priv Luxe to help avoid accidental activation of the fire bar and the OLED touch screen which is positioned just above the fire bar itself.

For the power-hungry cloud chasing Sub Ohm vaper, who requires maxed out performance combined with solid performance from their equipment, then the Luxe Edition Kit should be at the top of your list.

Its’s a very classy looking combination, particularly in gold, that is not only eye catching, but performs to the highest standards as well.

Everything about this kit smacks of quality and I was very impressed with the new higher resolution screen.

Both the touch sensitivity and dynamic layout of the individual menu structures allowed me to navigate them quickly and efficiently without any need to refer to the user manual, which is testament to a well-designed user interface.

The build quality of both the device and tank were equally impressive, creating a wide variety of vaping options for the user, especially when you combine the choice of the four coils which includes an RDA.

The airflow control is more than ample reducing the risk of dry hits. Ventilation on the base of the G-Priv chassis appears to be adequate as well.

It is pointless commentating on cloud production when you take into account that the VW output hits 230 watts, however, I should mention that flavour production has not been forgotten!

Depending on your choice of colour you should be aware that the G-Priv Luxe can be a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but don’t forget you do have a cover included in this kit which helps to solve that problem!

The price is a little more than you might be expecting to pay for a SMOK device, but in my opinion its money well spent.

Expected price tag to be in the region of £85-$100 mark. So be sure to check out your local B&M store for further details.
