SMOK have released another rock solid design not long after the introduction of the very popular Koopor Mini with an increased VW power output of up to 200W with the same reliable performance, and, of course, Temperature control.
Constructed from Steel & Zinc alloy, the Koopor Plus is a real powerhouse and a much-welcomed addition that has been added into their current lineup primarily with the cloud chaser in mind.
It can still be used by those of us who prefer a less foggy existence with increased battery life thanks to its very wide power band from 6W up to its maximum of 200W. So If clouds are not your thing, don’t worry, the Koopor Plus has not forgotten about you!
There is a choice of four assorted colours schemes too. These come in Passion Red, Matt White, Night Black, and Stainless Steel finishes. In addition to this you have a choice of coloured protective skins, and I have received an Orange one along with the Stainless Steel version of the Koopor Plus version sent to me for the purpose of this review.
Also included in this model is the latest High-Frequency Dynamic Monitoring
Resistance Technology (HFDMR), which is a high-frequency resistance sensing technology that can detect the atomizers resistance once every 250 microseconds, with a precision of approximately 4000 times per second, which helps to regulate the temperature of the heated coil more efficiently and effectively.
The Koopor Plus has been sent directly to me for review from Koopor to evaluate its performance and features before its official release.
The device arrived in a shrink-wrapped Orange & White Sleeve that includes a picture of the Koopor Plus on the front cover with a product description on the rear.
Inside you will find an Orange & White box that contains the device itself with a printed circuit board logo on the front and back covers. A barcode sticker can be found on the top that includes a reference code, serial number and a scratch to reveal the authentication section on the bottom part of the a barcode label.
You will notice on the right-hand side at the very top the word Open. Simply slide out the cover just like opening a drawer to reveal the Koopor Plus inside. Underneath the foam housing is the user manual plus your customer card. Please take the time to read both of these documents carefully before using this device.

The Koopor Plus arrived in an all Stainless Steel finish. Please verify the six month warranty period that should be included with the Koopor Plus before purchasing this device. The warranty period could differ depending on your location, but I believe it to be six months from the date of purchase.

The Koopor Plus has their own integrated Dual Driver System that works to help buck and boost the voltage to improve the accuracy and speed of regulating, and enhance the consistency and taste of every draw.
It is suggested that you do not use batteries below 50 amps at 0.10 ohms.
Operation & Performance
For the purpose of conducting this review, I have used a selection of different flavours from Essence E-Liquids and Ripe Vapes, plus the SMOK TFV4 & Mini.

Potential Polycarbonate problems
It is well known that certain e-liquid ingredients can cause cracking or even melting of polycarbonate plastic or acrylic tanks and tubes. For further information on this subject, please check with your E-juice supplier or contact the manufacturer directly.
I have been using the Koopor Plus continuously over the past three weeks to test the functionality of this device as thoroughly as possible and to gauge its overall performance. The model sent is a pre-production version (Sample, Not for Sale), so please take this into account when evaluating my comments in the conclusion.
Just like its smaller sibling, the Koopor Plus is built from a combination of Stainless Steel & Zinc Alloy. The top plate houses a strong spring loaded 510 connector pin with a neatly designed singular outer air channel and an increase in the number of air slots placed directly beneath the attached atomizer to help increase airflow.
A clear OLED screen has once again been included for easy viewing of the menu and current operational settings on the display.
Above the OLED screen is the fire button, and located just below the screen are the plus + & minus – input buttons for switching between the five current modes of operation, allowing for easy adjustment of the individual values inside each one.
Situated on the reverse side is a removable magnetic battery cover with the Plus logo printed on the top of the cover and an Open Logo with an arrow on the bottom just below the vent holes, allowing fast and easy access to the compartment that holds two 18650 battery inside (Not Included).
The base includes a Bluetooth 4.0 mini USB port for firmware upgrades (Not Charging) along with three additional lines of venting holes for the battery.
To turn the device on insert two of the recommended and of course fully charged 18650 batteries and push the fire button five times in quick succession.
You will see the welcome logo appear in the OLED display followed by Koopor and then the active screen showing the current settings and values, plus the battery charge indicator. When you turn the device on for the first time the Variable Wattage is set to 200W, so please bear this in mind.
A message on the OLED screen New Coil Up Same Down will appear after attaching the atomizer in Temp Mode. When this message appears after attaching a new atomizer (making sure it has cooled sufficiently), press the up (+ Button) and for the same coil down the (- minus button). The Koopor Plus will automatically check the attached coils resistance to regulate the temperature of the heated coil using its high-frequency resistance sensing technology.
The clear bright OLED screen provides you with a full and very comprehensive display of the current settings and values for each one of five adjustable menu options and their attached sub-menus. To change the current values of these settings press the fire button three times in quick succession.
By using either the Power Button or the + / – Buttons you can scroll through to the five available choices and locate the option that you wish to adjust. Wait three seconds to gain access. If there are sub menus available in the selected menu, the screen will automatically display them after a few seconds.
A full description of the menu functionality can be obtained by reading the supplied user manual. I strongly recommend you do so before operating the device in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of its full potential.
Another very nice feature that has once again been included and added into this model is the option to change the ramp up time between Min, Soft, Normal, Hard, and Max with a deviation of + & – 10% in both wattage and temperature modes that have been pre-selected by the user.
This takes place within the first two seconds of activating the fire button. In normal, the device will fire at the set Wattage or Temperature value that will help to improve your overall vaping experience when using this device.
SMOK have also included a quick access feature to the Koopor Plus as well.
To change the strength between Min Soft Normal Hard and Max without having to access the menu, press the Fire Button and the plus + Button together. Each time you do this the menu will cycle through the five options that are available.
Also, by pressing the Fire Button and the Minus – Button together you can quickly access and switch between Temp Mode Memory Mode and Wattage mode. Remember to check your attached coil setup first if you are switching between Wattage & Temp.
The Koopor Mini has a very useful locking feature too that will prevent accidental firing of the device while it is turned on. To activate it press the Fire Button five times in quick succession. To deactivate it press the Fire Button five times in quick succession once again.
There will be further customizable options available to you in the downloadable software application from SMOK, so keep an eye out for these.
With an extremely extensive range of power settings available, from 6 watts all the way up to 200 watts and in Resistances of 0.10 to 3.00 ohms there should be enough output from this device to cater for the vaping requirements of almost all of the vapers out there.
Adjustments in VW mode are made in increments of 0.1 by holding down either the + or – buttons. To reach much higher or lower values from the one currently selected just keep either the + or – buttons pressed down and the incremental speed will quickly increase.
Temperature Control Mode has an adjustable range between 200°F (100°C) and 600°F (315.5°C) You also have the facility to adjust the coefficient values in the menu options as well for Ni200 Nickel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel.
The preset value for Nickel wire is: 0.00600, the pre-set value for Titanium is: 0.0035, and for Stainless Steel: 0.00105
Adjustments in Temperature Control mode are made increments of 0.5
The performance of the Koopor Plus is just incredible, and at this price phenomenal considering its build quality ( Extremely Solid), ease of use, and incorporated technological features such as the High-Frequency Dynamic Monitoring Resistance for greater accuracy in temperature regulation sensing.
Additional safety measures have been included with their new chipset, which includes intelligent atomizer recognition, overheating protection, short circuit protection, and low battery warning (Very Important).
An improved 510 connection with greater airflow around the base of the attached tank definitely helps to improve vapour production and cooling which is clearly important given its maximum output of 200W.
Access to the magnetic dual 18658 battery compartment is very straightforward with increased ventilation being provided on the door to the compartment itself and the base of the device to help cool the interior and also in the case of venting.
The OLED screen is easy to read, and the menu structure has been simplified compared to previous versions.
Button locations are well placed and comfortable to use requiring little pressure to do so. There is still a very slight rattle when and only if you shake it so it would be nice if this were changed in future versions. (Different buttons).
And finally, the Micro USB port can be found on the base of the Koopor Plus along with the additional venting/air intake holes as I have already mentioned.
The Koopor plus is going to feature on a lot of vapers Christmas shopping lists this year, and I’m not in the least bit surprised given its performance and price tag. Vapour production as you can guess is immense, with the bonus of exceptional flavour, so you are going to have to take this device very seriously indeed.
RRP £50.00 $75.00 I’ve seen it advertised even cheaper than this!
