The iTaste MVP 3.0 was sent directly to me from Innokin and arrived in a shrink wrapped outer cardboard casing and housed in a robust plastic container with the MVP 3.0 located inside it. Innokin as I always mention, have as usual paid attention to their products presentation, and this as always is very well presented.
You have a choice of four colours with the MVP 3.0 which includes Black, Silver, Blue, and Pink, so be sure to check you have the correct colour before purchase and opening. Also please verify the warranty period should any be included with this device before purchase as well.
Remove the outer shrink wrapping along with the decorative cardboard sleeve and you will find the resistant plastic casing with the product secured inside it.
Remove either or both of the two stickers holding the upper lid closed to access your MVP 3.0 device. You will also find the included ego 510 adapter, USB charging cable, and located underneath the foam housing you will find the manual and included Innokin stickers.
The rear contains an overview of the products features, so be sure to read this entirely & the age and health warning before purchase.

Function & Performance
For the purpose of conducting this review, I have used a selection of two different E-juices with varying PG/VG combinations from the new Evo range and a 50/50 PG/VG balanced E-juice from the Vista Vapor collection.
If you intend to use this range of E-Liquids, please make sure they meet the current requirements set out by your countries regulatory bodies.
For EU countries, more information on this can be found here along with REACH’s partner agencies from around the globe.
E-Liquids may contain diacetyl (DA) and acetyl propionyl (AP) or other carcinogenic ingredients or disease-causing substances, so please be aware of this and seek medical advice before using any of the products used in my reviews.
People can suffer from allergies to chemicals that may be present in the makeup of certain types of E-liquids or produced in their vapour. People can become sensitive to, or even allergic to Nickel or Titanium used in Temperature Controlled designed coils. Again, please be aware of this and seek medical advice before using any of the products used in my reviews. Also, check with your E-liquid supplier or the equipment manufacturers directly before purchase and use.
You might find this range of calculators provided by Steam Engine particularly useful, so thank you to Lars for allowing me to include them in my reviews. These calculators are currently under development, and the information that they contain may change at any time without notice. Please read the How It Works section for a more in-depth understanding. And never leave your device charging unattended, make sure you are using the recommended battery for your device, and always remember, SAFETY FIRST.
Potential Polycarbonate problems
It is well known that certain e-liquid ingredients can cause cracking or even melting of polycarbonate plastic or acrylic tanks and tubes. For further information on this subject, please check with your E-juice supplier or contact the manufacturer directly.
I have been using the MVP 3.0 now for just over two weeks continuously to test the functionality of this device as thoroughly as possible and also to gauge its overall performance for you.
The operation of the MVP 3.0, as we have come to expect from Innokin, is simple and very straight forward. Firstly make sure you have fully charged your device and press the Power/Fire button three times to turn your device either on or off. If you have not attached your atomizer to the device yet, the screen will display the error message Check Atomizer.
Firstly make sure you have fully charged your device and press the Power/Fire button three times to turn the device on or after using off. If you have not attached your atomizer to the device yet, the screen will display the error message Check Atomizer.
Three clicks in quick succession of the Power/Fire button shows the Innokin logo (Innokin Technology), and you will see a clearly defined layout of the operating functions for the MVP 3.0 starting with the resistance value of your attached atomizer situated on the top left-hand side of the screen. Below this on the bottom left-hand side is the device’s current power output.
Centred on the OLED display are either the current wattage or voltage settings and on the far right-hand side is the battery charge status indicator.
To select either the wattage or voltage setting to appear in the main display window of the OLED screen just press the Power/Fire button along with the Plus + Button for Wattage Mode, or the minus – Button to show Voltage.
Adjusting the value currently displayed is achieved by pressing either the + Button to increase that value, or the Minus – Button to decrease the value between 6W up to its maximum of 30W, or in the voltage setting 3v up to a maximum of 9v. The MVP 3 includes a practical round robin function allowing you to switch quickly between its minimum values back to the maximum without the necessity of scrolling right the way through which is a great time-saving feature to include.
The MVP 3.0 also includes a puff counter as well. To activate it hold down the + & – Buttons together to view how many puffs have been taken. When the device is powered off the puff counter will reset back to a value of 0.
The + & – functions buttons also play another role by allowing you to flip the content displayed on the OLED screen to your preferred orientation. Simply hold down both for a few seconds until you seen the changed screen orientation.
Vapour production was superb throughout the course of this review, and I have not experienced any problems with the tanks I have used with it at all so you should expect the same. Throat hits were solid and with the utilization of the Organic Cotton Coils you can experience the much-improved flavour that is clearly more noticeable at the higher output values (above 24W), so I hope Innokin’s engineers will be working hard to produce a new tank design with this in mind for the very near future. If I hear anything about this, I will keep you posted as always. Update: Innokin has released their new iSub G Pyrex Glass Sub Ohm tank. Check out the website for further details.
The iTaste MVP 3.0 is not the smallest box mod on the market today but it is by no means overly large either when comparing it to the MVP 20w recently released by Innokin, being ever so slightly larger in comparison.
Battery performance from this device is astounding at 3800mAh compared to the MVP 2.0’s 2600 giving me on average between two to three long days’ of vaping time when set at around 12watts. Undoubtedly the time will change given your personal vaping preferences, and I used the 12w setting purely as a guide to gauge the batteries longevity on a full charge.
The real benefit of the MVP 3.0 3800mAh battery, of course, is that you do not have to charge your unit quite so often, which is a game changer for me and anyone who spends a lot of their day travelling.
The MVP 3.0 is comfortable to hold, and the rounded edges of the box style were sufficient not to cause me personally any discomfort while conducting this review. However, it would be nice to see the next version more rounded overall.
The 510 connector is still slightly raised above the top surface creating a small gap under the tanks, so a four-way air channel laser cut into the top deck similar to that of the K-Box I have recently reviewed would be a better way of reducing the overall height and creating a better fit with the brass spring loaded 510 connector.
The positioning of the battery indicator on the top as another visual aid is useful and not annoying as I first thought it might be. However, I would personally change this in favour of a resistance checker given the amount of tanks people, including myself carry these days, along with different pre-built resistant coils available on the market not including your own personal builds, so a point worth considering.
The position of the raised fire button allows for a comfortable vaping experience requiring little thumb pressure to activate it with that reassuring soft audible click. Also, you can find it quite easily with your thumb in low lighting conditions which is also important consideration.
The OLED screen is both bright and very clear, so it is easy to read the information displayed on it, but as I said almost seven months ago now in a previous review, companies including Innokin are not making enough use of the information that could be displayed on the screen, helping people to understand better both potential faults that they might incur, or a better description of the functionality of the device itself, so I hope that Innokin will set the pace in this area on future releases of new products.
Also, the screen timeout will help save unwanted battery drainage; however at around five seconds for me, it was a little short, so extending the time a little on future models would certainly help.
One other very nice feature of the screen is the ability to flip it making it a more attractive option to a wider audience giving you an even greater choice to tailor the device to your personal requirements.
Another ingenious design feature on the part of Innokin is the micro USB charge cable situated within the base of the device itself to charge external devices, meaning you no longer have to take an additional cable with you to charge up your phone. Sadly for I Phone users there will still be a requirement to do so, however, with the extra USB port included you will be able to charge your I Phone from there, so all is not lost!
Vaping performance as always is excellent, and I have used it from 0.5ohm’s up to the maximum of 30 watts without any problems so far. I tend to vape at around the 12-watt mark, and the performance is what I would have expected from an Innokin device, rock solid.
Hope to see a bit more power on the next build if possible!
Priced at a very respectable £50.00 $65.00 The MVP 3.0 is going to be great value for money bearing in mind the tremendous battery life that comes with it, and with included vape while charging technology, extensive safety features, and its vaping performance what more could you ask for.
Personally, I have always carried an Innokin device with me when travelling around the world. There might be more stylish designs out there for some of you, but reliability and solid build make this yet another must-have device for me in the Innokin range and with a choice of four colours I’m sure you will find one or two that will suit!
