ORIGO CVB REVIEW

ORIGO CVB REVIEW

Fresh on the streets this week sees the introduction of a new stealthily designed vaporizer kit, that’s just about as simple and straightforward to use as you can get and aimed specifically with the novice vapour in mind.

The Origo CVB Kit from Rocvape is, to say the least, an impressive little package that includes a 1600 mAh battery, a 2ml leakproof capacity built in tank that is also TPD compliant according to the manufactures, and, fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

This petit device is no slouch either when it comes to performance thanks to a fixed 18 watts of available power that should help to encourage the traditional smoker away from cigarettes and on to what many of the converted believe is a far healthier alternative.

If you are new to vaping or looking to make the switch then this little beauty could be just what you’re looking for. And for those of us requiring a backup device that does not take up much room in your bag or pocket then the Origo CVB should appeal to you too.

Tools Of The Trade & Safety Information

People can suffer from allergies to chemicals that may be present in the makeup of certain types of E-liquids or produced in their vapour. People can become sensitive to, or even allergic to Nickel or Titanium used in Temperature Controlled designed coils (Not Applicable With This Device). Seek professional medical advice before using any of the products used in my reviews.

In this review, I have used a selection of E-Liquids from Five Pawns impressive range of assorted and TPD compliant flavours. A review of these coming soon, and most definitely worth a mention here too.

Bang For Your Buck

The Device

Is, a user “very friendly” design that should capture the attention of a wide-ranging audience, especially those of you looking for a simple to operate box mod that works well straight out of the box!

The Origo CVB is manufactured from aluminium alloy and stainless steel with a glass insert at the front for easy monitoring of the amount of E-liquid held inside. You will also be suitably impressed by just how sturdy the Origo is, given its actual size of only 63mm x 40.5mm x 21mm including the 2ml CUP tank.

After priming the coil and filling the tank which I will explain in more detail in the next chapter, all you have to do is press the power button situated on the top of the device five times to turn it either on or off and vape. It really is that simple.

A circular LED surrounds the silver button indicating the current state of the batteries power. Green indicates that the battery is full, an amber light suggests to the user that you are running at 50% or less, and red warns the user that the battery requires recharging.

Positioned on the side and at the top, close to the power button is the USB port which is used for charging. Be aware that the Origo does not support vape while charging which may be a nice feature to include on a future model.

On the base you will see seven well placed venting holes which should be sufficient for a battery with a maximum capacity of 1600mAh.

The Tank

A clever piece of design work here has seen the amalgamation of the drip tip, airflow control ring, and the coil with the ability to remove them all together in order to access the 2ml tank for easy filling of your E-liquid.

To achieve this simply rotate the airflow control ring in a counter clockwise direction. You will notice that once you hit the airflow control stop point a further turn in the same direction will begin to unscrew the airflow controller. Remove it and the attached coil to begin filling the CUP tank.

You will notice on the main body of the device two white markers positioned either side of the glass window saying MAX. Do not fill the tank with E-liquid past this line to avoid accidental spillage when replacing the coil and airflow controller after filling.

Roundup

The Good

Simple in its design, but most definitely no lightweight when it comes to providing you with some quality vape time.

The Origo CVB by Rocvape has impressed me immensely over the past two weeks, so much so that I intend to carry this as one of my personal backup devices.

A solidly and well-constructed box mod that offers the consumer not only ease of use, but a TPD compliant leak free alterative device which is perfect in my opinion for the new vapour, and a delightful secondary vaporizer for the experienced vapour alike.

Vapour production at 18W is surprisingly good as is flavour production too, for a device not much bigger than a Zippo lighter. Remember those! It might be a good idea to include a further coil option at around 1ohm to give this device just a touch more oomph for the seasoned vaper.

Filling, operation, and changing the coil is just about as straight forward as you can get so the beginner will find the Origo a joy to use and behold. The coil showed no issues with wicking E-liquids of 70% VG 30% PG 50% VG 50% PG. As this is a device designed primarily for new vapours looking for an alternative to smoking, then these will be the most common ratios that will be used.

The Bad

The power button would be better placed towards the top side of the device. It’s not uncomfortable to use at all positioned where it is however, I feel it would be more accessible in the position I have suggested.

And The Downright Ugly

None whatsoever. It’s a great piece of kit and you’re going to love it! RocVape are even offering a 6 month limited warranty so be sure to check this out on their website.
